Recently, the state government under Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri approved over ₦4 billion for the reconstruction of the 3.5 km Mubi–Gyela road. The project, awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited, is expected to be completed in 12 months and executed in phases due to the road’s poor condition. It is aimed at improving transportation, governance access, and economic activities.

In addition, the government intervened in the Mubi–Maiha road—a federal road previously neglected—by grading and partially tarring it, making it motorable and easing movement.

The timing of these projects appears driven by a mix of political, economic, and administrative factors. Rising public pressure, the need to improve access to government institutions, and the importance of Mubi as a commercial hub likely influenced the decision. The intervention in a federal road also reflects a practical effort to address delays at the national level.

Overall, while these projects are long overdue, they mark a significant step toward improving infrastructure and economic activity in the Mubi region, though they also highlight the need for more proactive development planning in Adamawa State.
