BUDGIT'S MALALA FUNDED PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS BARRIERS TO GIRLS EDUCATION IN MAIDUGURI
BudgIT’s Malala-funded girl-child education project has identified transportation costs, early marriage, inadequate laboratory equipment and cultural barriers as major challenges affecting girls’ education in Maiduguri. Through SBMC and community town hall engagements, stakeholders called for improved education financing, parental sensitisation, community participation and better learning facilities to keep girls in school.
